The well being of our pups is very important. We screen each potential home very carefully to assure its the best possible place for our pups. It is our responsibility as a breeder to do this and if for any reason, regardless of age, the new home can no longer keep their pup it MUST be returned to Winners Circle Kennel. We do NOT allow any of our pups to be sold to pet stores, puppy mills, pet brokers, research facilities and will NOT allow our pups to end up in the pound or rescues!!
We don't kennel our dogs, they are kept in our home and treated as family. We expect the same from our puppy homes. We do require a secure fenced yard for all homes.
We have a 2 year guarantee on our pups for life threatening hereditary problems. (More detail is in the contract) You will always have a lifetime of support!!!

First vaccination given at 10 wks old due to the fact that the vaccines should not be administered before 8 wks, and
avoiding the possibility of a negative experience occuring (such as a shot) during the fear period of 8-9 wks.
10 wks - Distemper (single preferred) or Distemper in a combo shot of as few vaccines as possible, NO lepto and
NO Parvo. (killed if available, but if not, then modified-live)
12 wks - Parvo ONLY. (killed if available, but if not, then modified-live)
14 wks - Distemper (single preferred) or same combo as before, NO lepto and NO parvo.
16 wks - Parvo ONLY.
8 months to 1 year - Rabies ONLY. Need to get through the rapid growth stage of the Great Dane which occurs
between 4-10 months before administering Rabies. This is the biggest cause of vaccinosis in Danes.
12 months - Parvo ONLY. And, run titer for Distemper. Vaccinate only if necessary.
VACCINOSIS...
the fever, muscle aches, bone pain, prostration, etc. (malaise)
as the result of being vaccinated
BREEDERS "vs" VETS...
Ironically, breeders and vets don't always see eye-to-eye. Both have devoted their lives to the love of animals but the
life experiences of breeders and studies in the breed in which they specialize are not always recognized or
appreciated... In any case, we have to find a meeting ground to trust each other for the betterment of our dogs. Make
no mistake, I support the veterinary field and believe there is a need for both TRADITIONAL & HOMEOPATHIC care as
well as insight and open conversation from the breeder and pet owner.
NEW PRINCIPLES OF IMMUNOLOGY
"Dogs and cats immune systems mature fully at 6 months. If a modified live virus vaccine is given after 6 months of age,
it produces an immunity which is good for the life of the pet (ie: canine distemper, parvo, feline distemper). If another
MLV vaccine is given a year later, the antibodies from the first vaccine neutralize the antigens of the second vaccine
and there is little or no effect. The titer is not "boosted" nor are more memory cells induced.
"Not only are annual boosters for parvo and distemper unnecessary, they subject the pet to potential risks of allergic
reactions and immune-mediated hemolytic anemia.
"There is no scientific documentation to back up label claims for annual administration of MLV vaccines
"Puppies receive antibodies through their mothers milk. This natural protection can last 8-14 weeks. Puppies & kittens
should NOT be vaccinated at LESS than 8 weeks. Maternal immunity will neutralize the vaccine and little protection
(0-38%) will be produced. Vaccination at 6 weeks will, however, delay the timing of the first highly effective vaccine.
Vaccinations given 2 weeks apart suppress rather than stimulate the immune system. Following the vaccine protocol
showed above will provide lifetime immunity. But I recommend running titers as listed above every 1 to 3 years.

Vaccine schedule I highly recommend. LIMITED vaccines is very important with our breed, the bigger the dane the more potential for vaccinosis. PLEASE talk to your vet to find out if they're willing to work with you on this schedule BEFORE inquiring about a puppy. Below are the recommendation that I recommend.
