After working for several veterinarians for the past 12 years in different states, I have learned how they work,
in a sense some are sales people rather than someone who cares and has a concern for your beloved pets.
Not all vets are this way, but I will fully admit I have had to lie to clients about the truth in order to keep my job.

I have worked for some wonderful vets who are willing to listen and learn from breeders, I have worked for
others who will do anything and everything to go
against the reputable breeder who has studied and
educated themselves with ONE particular breed. I don't know if veterinarians realize we are studying ONE
and they have to study every small animal and are linking them all together.

Anyway, this is just my opinion and I DO NOT lump all veterinarians together.... There are some good ones
out there... You just have to find them.

Here is one of the controversial subjects:
To Vaccinate or Not to Vaccinate.....
PLEASE be careful and do your research prior to making that vet
appointment.......
Here are some good articles to read and maybe even print to take with
you to your vet appointment....

This is always a heated topic. My recommendations and what I use myself may not work for every
dog. As puppies I recommend Eagle pack holistic large breed puppy formula. Its what works for
my puppies. As they get older and need more protein and fat added to there diet we make
changes to what every puppy needs and what works. Great Danes do eat alot and the cost of
good quality kibble IS expensive. I will list my recommendations below for kibble.

There is also the option of Raw diet. I think its a great way to go but does not always work for
everyone. The already made up meals you can buy are very expensive and I usually recommend
doing your own by shopping for Raw meaty  bones etc. If you are interested in this diet and have
concerns about doing it correctly I can refer to you a few people I highly recommend and know
they are feeding properly. There are alot of myths and misconceptions regarding Raw. Educating
yourself is the best way to go BEFORE starting this diet. I will list recommended books and
breeders below who can help.

There are quite a few breeders and Great Dane owners who feed raw or a more natural good quality kibble.
